Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ohYaaa Trading Journal.
About the Platform
What is ohYaaa Trading Journal? ▾
ohYaaa is a free web-based trading journal for day traders. It automatically calculates your performance statistics — win rate, profit factor, P&L by setup, mistake costs, and equity curves — the moment you log a trade. It supports stocks, options, futures, forex, and crypto.
Is ohYaaa really free? ▾
Yes. ohYaaa is free to use with no credit card required, no trial period, and no paywalls blocking core features. All analytics, setup tracking, mistake tracking, calendar, goals, and the pre-trading checklist are included.
Who is ohYaaa for? ▾
ohYaaa is built for active traders — day traders, scalpers, swing traders, and anyone taking multiple positions per week. It works for solo traders building discipline and for mentor-student pairs working together.
Is my trading data secure? ▾
Your data is stored on Google Firebase with industry-standard encryption. Only you can access your trading data. ohYaaa cannot see your data and will never sell it.
Do I need to download anything? ▾
No. ohYaaa is a web application that runs in your browser. It works on desktop and mobile — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. No installation required.
Features
What markets does ohYaaa support? ▾
Stocks, options, futures, forex, and crypto. You can log any asset type and track performance across all of them. For futures, ohYaaa automatically calculates P&L using tick values for common contracts like ES, NQ, YM, RTY, CL, and GC.
Does ohYaaa import trades from my broker? ▾
No, on purpose. Logging each trade yourself is what makes a journal useful: you assign the setup, name any mistake and note why you took it while the trade is fresh. Most trades take under 10 seconds to log.
How do I log a trade? ▾
ohYaaa offers three input methods: (1) Entry/exit prices with automatic P&L calculation, (2) Direct P&L — just enter the dollar amount, (3) Daily totals for a high-level view. Most trades take under 10 seconds to log.
What analytics does the dashboard show? ▾
Win rate, profit factor, average winner vs average loser, P&L by setup, P&L by mistake, cumulative equity curve, daily/weekly/monthly performance breakdowns, and trade count statistics.
What is the pre-trading checklist? ▾
A customizable checklist that appears before each trading session. It helps you review yesterday, check the calendar, set your max loss, confirm your setups, and rate your mental state. It builds the routine that separates disciplined traders from gamblers.
How does setup tracking work? ▾
When you log a trade, you tag it with one or more setups (like "VWAP bounce" or "opening range breakout"). ohYaaa then tracks each setup's win rate, total P&L, average P&L per trade, and ranking — showing you exactly which strategies make money.
How does mistake tracking work? ▾
Tag trades with mistakes (like "FOMO entry" or "moved stop loss"). ohYaaa calculates the total dollar cost of each mistake. When you see that FOMO entries cost you $2,400 last quarter, you stop making them.
What are challenges? ▾
Time-bound goals for building discipline: "No revenge trades for 5 days," "Hit daily target 3 days in a row," or custom challenges. They gamify the process of building good trading habits.
How do AI weekly reports work? ▾
Every week, ohYaaa generates an AI analysis of your performance covering what went well, what didn't, your best and worst setups, mistake patterns, and suggestions for the coming week.
Market Intelligence
What is the Market Intelligence briefing? ▾
A pre-market summary of what the X accounts you follow are saying: key levels in price order with context, which accounts said them, the overall lean and what to watch. It is generated at 9:20 AM ET on trading days and can be re-run up to three times a day.
Does the briefing tell me what to buy or sell? ▾
No. It reports what followed accounts are saying and attributes it by handle. Levels that no followed account actually wrote are dropped. It is context for your own plan, not trade advice.
What is a guard window? ▾
A stretch of time before and after a scheduled release when price is least predictable, for example 30 minutes before and 90 after an FOMC decision. ohYaaa shades guard windows on the events timeline and can alert you 15 minutes before one opens. It does not block your trades.
Can I get a reminder before news events? ▾
Yes. Event reminders show a popup at the time of an event or 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes before, filtered by impact, with an optional sound. They are off until you turn them on in your settings.
Do I need to follow accounts for Market Intelligence to work? ▾
The economic calendar, events timeline and prices work without it. The written briefing is built from the accounts you follow in your Profile, so follow at least one to get it.
Habits and Discipline
What are habits in ohYaaa? ▾
Small actions you want to do while waiting for a setup, such as push-ups or checking a watch list. ohYaaa reminds you at planned times and logs what you did.
Will habit reminders interrupt me while I am trading? ▾
No. They never appear while a trade is open or within 15 minutes of trade activity, never in the first 15 minutes after the open or the last half hour, and never inside a guard window around a major release.
Can I require a trade plan before I log a trade? ▾
Yes. In your Profile you can require a written daily trade plan of a minimum length, and optionally a completed pre-market checklist, before new trades dated today can be added. Editing or back-logging earlier trades is never blocked.
What are trade triggers? ▾
The reason you took a trade, such as "planned level hit", "news" or "boredom". You define your own list in your Profile, tick them when you log a trade, and see which triggers make or lose money in your reports.
Logging Details
Can I log a trade with multiple entries and exits? ▾
Yes. The Entry/Exit tab is a list of fills. Add a row for each entry and exit; ohYaaa works out average entry, average exit and realized P&L on the size you actually exited.
Does ohYaaa include commissions and fees? ▾
Yes. Set your all-in futures fee per contract per side in your Profile and new futures trades subtract it automatically. You can override the fee on any individual trade.
What is Coach Alpha? ▾
The AI reviewer in your reports. Patterns such as results after a loss, by time of day, by position size, and on days you wrote a plan are calculated in code with sample sizes first; the model then explains them alongside your own notes. It also answers questions about a report and builds custom reports.
Mentorship
How does the mentor system work? ▾
Experienced traders can invite students via a unique code. Once connected, mentors can review individual trades, leave feedback, create assignments, schedule sessions, and run weekly check-ins — all within the platform.
Can I use ohYaaa without a mentor? ▾
Absolutely. The mentorship system is optional. Most traders use ohYaaa as a solo journaling tool. The mentor features are there when you want accountability or coaching.
How many students can a mentor have? ▾
There is no limit on the number of students a mentor can manage. Each student appears in the mentor dashboard with their performance data, pending assignments, and check-in status.

How is ohYaaa different from a spreadsheet? ▾
Spreadsheets require you to build and maintain formulas, charts, and dashboards yourself. ohYaaa calculates everything automatically — win rate, profit factor, P&L by setup, mistake costs, equity curves — the moment you log a trade. Zero formulas. Zero maintenance.
Can I track multiple accounts? ▾
